Troop 1191 annual Military Base Camp Out for January 2008!!!

We are training at the Naval Air Station JRB,Fort Worth, Texas.

The Naval Air Station (NAS) is the headquarters for the Tenth Air Force, the 136th Airlift Wing of the Texas Air National Guard and the 301st Fighter Wing of the Air Force Reserve, and a number of Marine Corps units are all co-located at NAS Fort Worth JRB. 

TRAINING: We will be training with the United States Navy Sea Cadets Corps & Navy League Cadet Corps, Forrestal Squadron & Training Ship Ranger.  Cadets are instructed by both Sea Cadet Officers and senior cadets through classroom and applied instruction in subjects such as basic seamanship, military drill, and leadership.

Scouts will EXPERIENCE REAL Military Physical Fitness Training:  All Scouts will need to bring a set of PT clothes. (Troop Class B shirt, gym shorts, gym shoes, towels, & shower gear)

MEALS: All meals on base will be served military style in a real Mess Hall.  The costs of the meals and lodging is $43.00 per person which includes 5 meals (2-breakfasts, 2-lunchs, & 1-dinner). 

LIGHTS OUT: We will be bunking with the Cadets at Camp Amon Carter (YMCA) Friday & Saturday night.  Make sure you bring your sleeping bag.  The cost of lodging is is included in the $43.   Total of $43.00 payable in advance.

DEPATURE FRIDAY:  We will depart from Jess Harben at 6:30 Friday evening.  (Don’t forget to bring a sack lunch for Friday night’s dinner.)

SATURDAY: We will report for muster at the front gates of the NAS JRB at 6:35 am Saturday morning.  

DEPARTURE SUNDAY: We will depart for Jess Harben after the closing ceremony on Sunday.  Arrival at Jess Harben between 3:30 -4:00 p.m.
